These egg hats are easy and quick to knit. Wool rests are very useful, I normally use wool for needle size 6, 7 or 8.
Cast on 27 stitches (wool for size 7) and divide them evenly onto 3 needles, so you can knit round.
Now knit 14 rows and then create the top.
For the top knit the first two of each needle together and bind the last three stitches off. You will have evenly one stitch less on each needle and created three nice seam lines.
If you want a longer finish for the hat, you just knit a row in between the rows (where you actually remove three stitches).
Now it is up to you to add a pompom or a plait to it or create a ninja turtle.
